Trusting Cutera With Your Nails.

Fungal nail infections, also known as onychomycosis, are a widespread issue affecting millions globally—over 10 million people in the UK and approximately 700 million worldwide. They tend to occur more frequently in men than women and become increasingly common with age.

While these infections are often more of a cosmetic concern, they can cause significant changes to the nail's appearance. Infected nails typically become thick, yellowish, brittle, and challenging to trim. They may also emit an unpleasant odor, which many find embarrassing.

If untreated, fungal nail infections can progress, leading to discomfort or pain, especially when wearing shoes. They may also contribute to secondary issues like corns along the edges of the nail. In more severe cases, the nail may detach partially from the toe, allowing debris to accumulate underneath and altering its natural shape.

Fungal Nail Infection

  • Dual-wavelength technology for targeted results

  • Safe and effective for all skin types

  • Quick, comfortable sessions with minimal downtime

The Cutera laser focuses a narrow beam of intense light through the toenail to irradiate the fungus underneath. This kills the fungi living under the nail, allowing new, healthy nail tissue to grow in and push the nail damaged by the infection out. Because the highly focused light heats the nail, the Cutera device has an integrated sensor that monitors the temperature of the area being treated.

How It Works

The procedure is noninvasive with no post-procedure recovery time preventing you from working. Most cases are resolved with one to two laser treatments. More severe infections may require more treatments. If you already have or think you might be developing a fungal nail infection, don’t wait for it to take over your toes before getting help.
